Shannon Sharpe is no stranger to heated arguments with guests on his “Nightcap” podcast. His most recent altercation was with boxer Shakur Stevenson, whose fighting style he described as “boring” to watch.
“Your style is boring to me,” Sharpe told Stevenson (Timestamp: 46:45).
Stevenson, who is 25-0, snapped back at Sharpe.
“You’re being ignorant,” the boxer said. “I’m speaking far as your boxing knowledge and what you’re talking about in the sport of boxing. You’re ignorant.”
Their argument continued, with Sharpe saying that Stevenson has received a lot of credit despite his lack of knockouts. Stevenson has won 11 of his 25 fights via knockout.
“I don’t believe you’re gonna get the credit you deserve without knocking people out,” said Sharpe.
“That’s how I know you never boxed before, do you homework Unc,” Stevenson answered.
Stevenson’s podcast appearance came just hours after he signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing promotion, becoming the biggest name to do so so far. He reportedly signed a multi-year and multi-fight deal that has thrown his future as the WBO Welterweight Champion into question.

Shannon Sharpe is known for his controversial opinions, and one sport he has debated with others is soccer. The former NFL star weighed in on USA’s 4-1 loss to Belgium, saying he believes this loss was necessary for the team.
“Belgium actually did us a FAVOR [sic] by dismantling us like this. Let’s us know We’re not nearly as close as we thought. This was awful.”
The USA were eliminated from the World Cup, leading many to question the hype surrounding the team after a strong group stage campaign.
