Days after pop star Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s dreamy NYC wedding, a lot of the attendees are still raving about the grand occasion.
Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz and his wife, former American soccer player Julie Ertz, were part of Taylor and Travis’ star-studded wedding guest list. On the Style Of Play podcast’s Saturday episode hosted by Julie Ertz and former US national teammate Kealia Watt, Ertz was asked about her weekend attending the wedding of the year.
While Julie had a good time at the wedding festivities, especially a fun dance floor, the former defensive midfielder also ran into some outfit struggles before the big day.
“My dress is still in customs somewhere,” Julie said on the podcast (1:16).
“To find a dress in 24 hours, like, let alone it being in New York, seemed insane. And then on top of that, the stress of Zach as we’re about to leave being like, ‘Do you think I should have tried on my tuxedo?’ I honestly was like, ‘We’re a mess. There’s something wrong with us,'” she further elaborated (1:20).
Despite their wardrobe complications, the couple did put together chic outfits for the wedding. Julie donned an all-black strapless gown while Zach twinned in a classic black suit and a bowtie.
Their wedding outfit snaps have now garnered over 90,000 likes on Julie’s Instagram page.
Julie Ertz Gets Inducted Into Santa Clara University Athletics Hall of Fame
After retiring from professional and international soccer in 2023, former USWNT midfielder Julie Ertz was inducted into the athletics hall of fame at her alma mater, Santa Clara University, earlier this year.
The ceremony, which took place on May 2 at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara, saw Julie pose alongside other inductees like Marlon Garnett, Katie Le, Scott Travers, and Jon Wallace.
While Julie Ertz is often seen discussing soccer across podcasts and media outlets, her husband, tight end Zach Ertz, is also expected to make a return on the field in the NFL’s upcoming season with the Commanders after sustaining an ACL tear last year.
