Netflix’s latest season of “Quarterback” delivered one of its funniest moments when cameras caught Joe Flacco’s wife, Dana, and one of his sons discussing their fantasy football lineups ahead of the Cleveland Browns’ Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens during the 2025 season.
As they watched from the stands, Flacco’s son, Frank, admitted he had made a fantasy football decision.
“If Dad goes off, I’m gonna crash out.”
Dana quickly asked what he meant.
“I benched him,” Frank replied.
Rather than disagreeing, Dana admitted she had done the exact same thing after Flacco’s difficult Week 1 outing against the Cincinnati Bengals. The clip spread across social media after being shared by WincinnatiPod, with NFL fans loving the hilarious family moment.
One fan joked about what the next family gathering might look like.
“Thanksgiving dinner gonna be AWKWARD this year. ‘Pass the potatoes… and why did you bench me again??'”
“Damn Joe, catching heat from the family! Wife and Son benched him!” – another wrote.
“He had to make a business decision, I respect it,” one wrote.
Another fan wrote, “This is absolutely classic. Between this and the visor bit I’ve now become a massive Flacco fan. Must see TV.”
Others couldn’t resist making fun of Flacco’s son’s name.
“I feel like we’re missing out on him naming his son Frank Flacco. Kid is destined to be a mob boss fighting Spider-Man.”
“There is no sentiment in Fantasy Football. That’s rule #1,” one wrote.
“Turns out they all knew ball that day and got it right,” another wrote.
Joe Flacco’s Rough Day Proved the Fantasy Call Right
As funny as the exchange was, the Browns’ performance against Baltimore ended up justifying the family’s decision.
Cleveland was beaten 41-17 by the Ravens, with the veteran quarterback finishing the game with 199 passing yards, one interception and two sacks. He also lost a fumble that Baltimore returned for a touchdown, overall making it a disappointing opener against Cincinnati.
The Netflix series has shown us the lighter side of Flacco. Along with the fantasy football moment, the veteran quarterback also went viral for jokingly roasting rookie Shedeur Sanders over wearing a visor, insisting quarterbacks wearing one were “trying to look too sweet” and that they eventually fog up anyway.
Between his dry sense of humor, honest parenting moments and willingness to poke fun at himself, Flacco has become one of the breakout personalities of “Quarterback” series.
