New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to confirm reports of power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding while discussing the city’s busy summer schedule.
The comments quickly caught the attention of fans after months of speculation surrounding the couple’s plans.
Speaking during a press conference about New York City’s preparations for several major upcoming events, Mamdani highlighted the city’s ability to handle large-scale gatherings.
In the process, he included Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding among the major occasions expected to take place this summer.
“We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for [the FIFA World Cup]. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding – all happening at the same time – and we are so excited to welcome the world here.” – he said.
The remark immediately caught everyone’s attention, as neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed their wedding plans.
While reports have circulated for weeks suggesting the couple plans to marry in New York City, Mamdani’s comments added more certainty to the rumors.
Mamdani was also asked whether he had received an invitation to the event.
“No,” he said, wished the couple well, and joked that he would celebrate from home by listening to Swift’s 2020 song “Only the Young.”
Despite not being on the guest list, the mayor made it clear he expects New York City to be ready for one of the biggest weddings in the world.

Multiple reports link the celebration to Madison Square Garden.
According to reports, more than 1,000 guests could attend the wedding, while separate reports suggest the actual ceremony may be a smaller, private gathering reserved for close family and friends.
Additional reports have claimed that a massive stage is currently being constructed in Pennsylvania for the celebration. TMZ suggests the setup could allow celebrity guests to perform during the reception.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has commented publicly on these.
The latest wedding buzz comes as Swift appears to be balancing personal milestones with professional projects.
The singer was recently spotted spending nearly nine hours overnight at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, sparking speculation that she might be working on new music.
For now, the couple remains silent. But thanks to the New York City mayor’s comments, wedding rumors surrounding Swift and Kelce have only grown.
