Super Bowl vs. TPUSA Halftime Show Estimated Viewership: Comparing Audiences for Bad Bunny and Kid Rock’s Event

Super Bowl LX has now officially wrapped up. The halftime show featuring Bad Bunny blew the competition away, demolishing Turning Point USA’s Kid Rock-led performance by over 100 million viewers.

Turning Point USA’s alternative “All-American” halftime show drew over six million viewers across multiple platforms, including over five million from the Turning Point USA YouTube channel, one million from Charlie Kirk’s YouTube channel, and over 200,000 on Rumble. Their stream on X was cancelled due to licensing issues.

The TPUSA halftime show featured performers like Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, with the headliner being Kid Rock.

That event was created in response to the NFL naming Bad Bunny as its headliner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The official Nielsen ratings have not been released yet, but insiders have estimated that the “Benito Bowl” attracted over 135 million viewers during his performance. This means that more than 120 million more people watched Bad Bunny than Kid Rock.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show featured several iconic artists, including Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, plus cameos from Cardi B., Pedro Pascal and more.

Kendrick Lamar had the most-viewed Super Bowl Halftime Show with 133.5 million viewers. If that 135 million-viewer number is verified, it would mean Bad Bunny should now hold the record for the most-viewed Super Bowl Halftime Show.

TPUSA Halftime Show Could Not Beat Last Year’s Puppy Bowl

While Turning Point USA billed its halftime show as an “All-American” alternative to the Super Bowl, chances are it might not even dethrone the most-viewed alternative programming. Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XXII was also held on Sunday, and it featured rescued dogs competing against one another to appeal to audiences who might adopt them.

While their numbers have yet to be released, just like the Super Bowl, it is estimated that their program would still dwarf Turning Point USA’s alternative program. Last year, set against Kendrick Lamar’s record-breaking performance, Puppy Bowl XXI still reached a strong average of 12.8 million viewers. This may be twice as much as Turning Point USA’s six million.
