Super Bowl LX has finally kicked off, and several big celebrities are in the stands watching the big game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Among those spotted at Levi’s Stadium is “Happy Gilmore” and “The Water Boy” star Adam Sandler.
It is widely known that Sandler is a massive football fan, having made several football movies for his love of the game. However, as he arrived, it seems that announcer Mike Tirico called him a Patriots fan, saying in the broadcast that the comedian was there to support the Patriots “as per usual.” This raised eyebrows because he is actually a supporter of the New York Jets.
The reason for the flub was that he was apparently wearing a hat that featured the New England Patriots logo during the game, which suggested that he was supporting the Patriots. In reality, he was wearing a Super Bowl LX cap that showed both teams competing, as the other side of it showed the Seahawks logo. Usually, he would be cheering for the New York Jets, who continued their long streak of missing the playoffs this season.

Because he is such a big fan of the New York Jets, this also means that he is watching his favorite franchise’s former QB play in the Super Bowl. Sam Darnold was once the quarterback for the Jets until the team fumbled him, with him eventually going to Seattle.
That, plus being mistaken for a Patriots fan, has FanDuel poking fun at it all.
Sandler is a common sight at Jets games, and he is such a big fan that he had former Jets coach Rex Ryan star in one of his movies.
