The Detroit Lions recently released cornerback Terrion Arnold, hours after he secured a bond worth $1,000,000 from the court in his alleged kidnapping and physical assault case.
Arnold’s lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, claimed on July 2 that three NFL teams had already expressed interest in the former Alabama star.
Talking about Arnold’s lawyer’s claim, PFT’s Mike Florio raised doubts about whether there are actually any NFL teams that are interested in the young cornerback.
“You know, there’s a rule of thumb in some league circles that whenever there’s a report of unnamed interested teams, there’s a good chance there aren’t any. That this is just part of the effort to try to make teams interested. Hey, teams are interested. Teams are interested. You better get interested if you’re going to get interested because teams are interested. Well, who are they? There was a tweet yesterday from Schefter. He’s expected to visit the teams that are interested in him. Well, who? Who? Now’s the time to do it, because the hearing goes a lot differently on Friday. If Arnold is on a roster and just a few weeks away from training camp. The same reasoning that the judge applied last week applies this week.
If he’s not on a team, there’s a good chance he’s going to be required to wear the monitor. Now’s the time to do it.”
Deebo and Joe Share Thoughts on Terrion Arnold’s Lawyers’ Claims on NFL Teams’ Interest
During a recent conversation on the “Deebo and Joe” podcast, Joe Haden bluntly said that if he sees Arnold on a squad in the near future, he would be surprised.
Talking about the Arnold’s attorney’s prediction that the former Lions cornerback will find a new NFL team to join within 30 days, Deebo said:
”Where is his agent at? You’re his agent now, too? Bruh, you can say that all you want to, they’re about to slap an ankle monitor on that boy, I’m telling you right now, it ain’t no team out there right now that’s about to touch that. Attorneys can say whatever they want to; they’re trying to do what they can.” Deebo said.
Arnold’s legal troubles began after he allegedly orchestrated a kidnapping of people he thought had robbed him during his Airbnb stay in Florida a few months back, an incident in which he lost valuables and cash worth around $250,000.
