Rob Gronkowski’s girlfriend Camille Kostek says she has learned that life does not always go according to plan.
In the premiere episode of WAG World released on the People App, Kostek reflected on her career and personal life. She said many of the things she expected when she was younger never happened.
“I never thought that my modeling career would take off at 27. I never knew that I wasn’t going to go to college in L.A. like I dreamt of… that I was going to stay in Connecticut and go to college there.”
Kostek also said she once dreamed of becoming a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. Instead, she joined the New England Patriots, which led her to meet Gronkowski in 2013.
“Little did I know that that was going to lead me to meeting Rob,” she said. “There’s so many things that you just don’t know and you don’t expect, which is what I think makes life so sweet. It’s just so unpredictable!”
Kostek said she thought she would already be married and have children by 33.
“When I was 21, I definitely thought I would have been married with kids by now and sometimes I go back and I judge myself — or even now,” she said. “I’ll be like, ‘Wow, I’m behind.'”
Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek have been together for 13 years. They first met back in November 2013 at a New England Patriots Thanksgiving charity event.
Kostek was a cheerleader and Gronkowski was a tight end for the team.
Because of strict team rules regarding player-cheerleader dating, they initially kept their relationship a secret.
They went public in 2015, after Kostek had left the Patriots cheerleading squad to pursue full-time modeling.
Rob Gronkowski’s GF Camille Kostek Took Advice From Ex-Patriots TE’s Mother
In the same episode, Camille Kostek said she had discussed her family plans with Rob Gronkowski’s mother, Diane Gronkowski Walters.
“I was talking to Rob’s mom the other day. It was Mother’s Day. I was like, ‘Remind me again when you had your first?’ And she was like, ‘I was 22,'” she said via People Magazine on Thursday. “I sat down and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. I’m so behind.'”
But Walters reminded her that everyone has their own path in life.
“This is a reminder to self and a reminder to others that we are not meant to follow the same journey,” Kostek said. “There is not a book of life. There is not a right way to live and a wrong way to live. Just letting go and giving yourself that grace.”
Kostek had previously downplayed rumors she was pregnant.
