Skip Bayless Digs Up Jimmy Horn Jr.’s Colorado Past As Panthers WR’s Mistake Ends Carolina’s Season

The Carolina Panthers and Jimmy Horn Jr. almost pulled an upset over the Los Angeles Rams this Saturday during the Wild Card round. In the end, the Rams came out on top 34-31 in a game that was closer than anybody expected, with the Panthers being the weakest team to make the NFL Playoffs with a record of 8-9.

Probably the saddest part of it all was how the game came to an end. The Panthers seemed to be advancing downfield, with a serious chance of winning the encounter, when they got stuck in what turned out to be their last set of downs. Being at fourth and ten, they went for it, and quarterback Bryce Young almost found wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr., who, in the end, dropped the ball. The Rams got the ball in a turnover on downs, which all but sealed the game, with 12 seconds left on the clock.

No one was sadder to see this than sports pundit Skip Bayless. He jumped on X and tweeted the following in the game’s aftermath:

“No! Jimmy Horn, one of Shedeur’s favorite targets at Colorado, tried to run with before securing a 4th-down pass – dropped. Game and season over.”

Matthew Stafford Credits His Experience For The Victory Over The Carolina Panthers

The game was, without a doubt, a stressful one for everyone involved. In the end, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said his 17 seasons in the NFL gave him the experience to be able to navigate a difficult situation like the one they faced this Saturday.

″I have been in that spot a lot in my life — and I love that spot,” Stafford said. “I would rather be me having to go out there with our offense and do it then watch from the sideline. You can make it stressful, or you can make it calm and collected, and think the latter is what we were today.”

He was indeed Los Angeles’ most important player on the night. He threw for 304 yards with three touchdowns. He did have one interception, which is not unheard of in such a high-stakes game. His completion percentage was also a tad low, at 57.1%.
