ESPN personality Skip Bayless is known for his hot takes, and when it comes to who he thinks is a fan of the New York Knicks, his choice led to many fans raising their eyebrows. When President Donald Trump appeared at Madison Square Garden for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, many fans jokingly blamed him for the loss.
During that same game, Trump was booed by the New York crowd. Despite this, Bayless believes that Trump is a better Knicks fan than Swift, who was at Game 4 to cheer on New York. The Knicks won that game.
Skip Bayless was reading some fan comments on his “Skip vs. Ernestine” show and addressed the incident where he called Taylor Swift a “bandwagon fan” and doubled down on the take.
“At least Donald Trump had season tickets back in the 80s and 90s… at least he qualified as a fan,” he told viewers.
Fans pointed out that Taylor Swift’s interest in sports has been growing in recent years and credited her fiancé, Travis Kelce. However, Skip Bayless’ wife, Ernestine, disagreed. The couple doubled down on their claims, eventually leading to Bayless comparing Swift to Trump, who was a season-ticket holder.

During that same video, another fan pointed out that Taylor Swift had been watching Knicks games even when the team struggled, which was around the 2010s. Skip Bayless brushed this off and said she never did. However, past photos of the music superstar at MSG are proving him wrong, and many of them were taken during the 2010s, when the Knicks were not championship contenders.
Her earliest recorded Knicks game appearance was in October 2014 as the team hosted the Chicago Bulls at MSG, appearing alongside model Karlie Kloss. A month later, when the Knicks hosted the Orlando Magic, she was back, this time with actors Kate Upton, Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long.
Swift had been attending Knicks games every now and then, but not often. She does appear with other celebrities at MSG, and even alongside her fiancé, Travis Kelce, from time to time, even though she is not really considered a celebrity row regular.
