Rob Gronkowski’s girlfriend and Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek took over social media with her elegant Marilyn Monroe tribute on Friday. The 34-year-old social media icon was part of the MM100 event aimed at celebrating the 100th anniversary of Monroe’s birth.
Kostek dressed up in a dreamy all-white outfit inspired by the Hollywood legend’s iconic look. Kostek then posed for a photoshoot atop the Empire State Building before receiving an award commemorating the special occasion.
The proceedings also included signing her name in the ‘Celebrity Guest Book’ and giving fans a tour of various parts of the exhibit. Kostek tied up the social media post with a heartfelt message, saying:
“This was a day I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Being part of a collaboration that celebrates Marilyn Monroe’s legacy was such a surreal and meaningful moment. Marilyn Monroe is one of the most recognizable women in history… Her influence continues to transcend generations, and I think that’s a testament to the power of confidence, vulnerability, resilience and embracing what makes you unique.”
The event, currently being held at the Genesis House in New York, is a two-month-long showcase of Marilyn Monroe’s life story, depicting “the transformation of Norma Jeane Baker into Marilyn Monroe.”
Camille Kostek Almost Gave Up On Modelling Career
While Camille Kostek’s modelling career has seen a steady rise over the years, the Sports Illustrated star almost gave up on her dreams because of the feedback she received from those in the industry.
“At 27 years old, when I got the cover, I was getting a lot of nos or you need to lose weight or you need to lose inches off of your hips, your thighs, your biceps.”
Kostek admitted that her positive upbringing turned out to be the reason behind the rejections, as growing up, her family did not use any ‘scales.’ Furthermore, Kostek also claimed that growing up in an era without social media led to her being unable to ‘compare’ herself with other models.
Kostek currently boasts a massive following on social media, including 1M on Instagram as well as more than 550k followers on TikTok, and is signed to multiple modeling agencies throughout the United States.
