NFL commentator Skip Bayless is impressed with Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Taylen Green’s impressive display at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Green turned in historic numbers for a quarterback.
He posted a 43.5-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-2 broad jump, both new NFL Scouting Combine records for his position. Moreover, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds, making him second fastest quarterbacks ever at the Combine.
This raises the question of how Green can go in the 2026 NFL draft. Bayless first shared that he was blown away by Green’s performance.
“Taylor Green just took my breath away. He didn’t just break the vertical and the broad jump, he shattered them,” Bayless said. “Taylor Green has a nice arm. It’s just the classic case of how accurate you are consistently. So is he a project? Yes, he is. But if I had a quarterback coach and a coordinator I trusted, I think you could find a way to make Taylor Green a force in the National Football League.”
Despite the great Combine, Bayless couldn’t care less as he weighed more towards results. He said the best Green would do is get picked in the fourth or fifth round.
“A great combine might get you maybe a fourth-, maybe a fifth-round pick, bro,” Bayless said. “Taylor Green, shout out to you. You’re a freak athlete. Last I checked, the NFL is full of freak athletes. The NFL needs football players, and you’re solid. But at that position? Nah, man. I see him being a sixth- or seventh-round pick. But you cannot negate this kid’s athleticism and his arm strength, we could work with that.”
Taylen Green’s Combine Display Takes His Draft Stock to New Level
Taylen Green started to trend on the internet following his performance at the NFL Combine. His vertical jump surpassed 2023 No. 4 pick Anthony Richardson’s previous record by three inches. Moreover, he recorded five inches more than the Colts quarterback’s broad jump.
His 40-yard dash only trails Reggie McNeal’s 4.35 seconds from 2006 in the Combine history.
Coming into the Combine, Green was considered a mid- to late-round developmental quarterback prospect, but after his Indianapolis showing, many are rethinking his NFL draft prospects. It remains to be seen if Green’s Combine makes him a person of interest among scouts looking for top signal callers.
