Shedeur Sanders did not have the easiest start to his NFL journey at Cleveland after being picked by them as the second quarterback and the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Many fans and analysts wondered if the Browns were trying to sabotage Shedeur Sanders’ career after the franchise refused to give him any first round reps despite him being the backup quarterback to Dillon Gabriel.
The ex-Colorado star didn’t get any first team reps until he was about to play his first game as the starting QB against the Las Vegas Raiders because of Gabriel’s injury that happened in the Ravens game.
Quinshon Judkins, who plays as the Browns’ running back, recently caught fans’ attention during his “The Arena: Gridiron” appearance. He spoke about being happy for Shedeur Sanders after he made it to the Pro ball after “all that he endured” all year, hinting towards the Browns’ mistreatment towards the ex-Colorado star.
Judkins further spoke about Shedeur Sanders’ attitude and confidence that rubs a lot of people the wrong way:
“I feel like that’s a lot of players, though. Some people take it as you’re being cocky. But it’s not, though, I feel. To be that type of player, to where you produce on the field, you have to have that confidence. That’s what you have to bring in. The belief, the self-belief, the determination. That is what makes you, you. So I think a lot of people may not like that, but I think that’s what makes him, himself.”
Todd Monken Opens Up About Shedeur Sanders’ Special Gesture
Now that Todd Monken has taken the position of the Browns head coach after the franchise fired Kevin Stefanski after the 2025 season ended with an unimpressive overall record, Shedeur Sanders is leaving no stone unturned in making sure he maintains a good relationship with the new head coach.
During a recent interview with CBS Sports, Monken revealed that he received a package on his birthday, which he thought was from his wife but turned out to be from Shedeur Sanders.
“[I] open[ed] it up, it’s like this porcelain, like, horse head. And it’s from Shedeur. He sent me a gift on my birthday,” Monken revealed.
“And I asked him, I said ‘What was the meaning?’ and he said ‘Well I just really liked it.’ [He] said ‘I got myself one.’ I said ‘Well great.'”
Upon joining the Browns, Monken shared that while he is excite about having Shedeur Sanders on the roster, the QB1 position is still to be determined.
