Head coach Mike Macdonald’s Seattle Seahawks reportedly signed veteran edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. He was the third overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This offseason, Macdonald is focused on boosting their edge depth and for that very reason, they even hosted Fowler earlier in the season. Fowler has recorded 294 tackles and 58.5 sacks in his NFL career to go along with 23 pass deflections, one interception, 15 forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and five touchdowns as well.
This seems to be a prove-it deal, as is the trend in the NFL these days.
In Fowler, Seattle gets veteran experience and familiarity with similar defensive systems. Fowler played the 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys and recorded three sacks. A season before, he had a strong campaign with the Washington Commanders, recording 10.5 sacks.
For Seattle, this is a low-risk, potentially high-reward signing.
Seahawks Picks in 2026 NFL draft
The Seahawks probably did better than most teams in the 2026 NFL draft despite holding just four picks for the three-day affair in Pittsburgh. The team improvised with the help of trades to finish with a full eight-player draft class.
Seattle used the No. 32 pick on running back Jadarian Price. The Notre Dame running back finished his 2025 season with 674 rushing yards, 11 touchdowns, and two kickoff return touchdowns. He earned Third-team AP All-American honors. He posted 4.49 seconds 49-yard dash at the Combine. He is considered a potential Week 1 starter for Seattle in 2026.
The Seahawks added multiple defensive backs, including Bud Clark, Julian Neal, Andre Fuller, and Michael Dansby.
Full list of Seahawks’ 2026 draft picks:
