The Seattle Seahawks are set to lock horns against the New England Patriots in the Sunday Super Bowl LX matchup at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Entering this contest with an overall record of 16-3, much of the Seattle-based franchise’s success could be attributed to their star quarterback, Sam Darnold, who has put up consistent numbers throughout the season.
The 28-year-old signal caller has recorded a total of 4,048 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions for the Seahawks this season, and it won’t be a surprise if he continues to add on to his numbers come Super Bowl.
Part of Darnold’s on-field success could be attributed to his experience in the NFL, having been part of the league since 2018. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Sam Darnold’s 8-year NFL career has helped him garner a net worth of $45 million.
After a successful college football stint with USC, Darnold was the third overall NFL draft pick in 2018, signing a four-year, $30.25 million contract with the New York Jets.
He was then traded to the Carolina Panthers, where he spent his fifth year in the league, whilst also joining the likes of the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings in 2023 and 2024, respectively, before signing a massive three-year, $100.5 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
Sam Darnold vs Drake Maye: Which Quarterback Will Win Super Bowl MVP?
One of the major talking points ahead of the Super Bowl LX matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots is the battle of the two star quarterbacks, Sam Darnold and Drake Maye.
The latter, after narrowly missing out on the NFL MVP win earlier this week to Matthew Stafford, played his first postseason NFL game for the Patriots this season. In all three playoff games played by Maye, he has 533 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in 3 games.
Meanwhile, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has played a total of 4 NFL playoff games in his career, having compiled a total of 715 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception with an overall passer rating of 103.1.
Meanwhile, FanDuel Sportsbook puts Drake Maye’s odds of winning the MVP in the Super Bowl at +230, while Sam Darnold has +115 odds of being named the MVP later this week.
