Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, which took place at New York’s Madison Square Garden on July 3, was one of the most hyped events of the year so far.
Swift (who has a net worth of $2.1 billion, according to Forbes) reportedly turned the venue into a fairy-tale-themed castle and hosted around 1,000 guests as she tied the knot with Kelce.
A lot of preparation and planning go into it if you’re throwing a massive party, as Swift did.
On Friday, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked whether Swift will be paying the city back any money for police overtime, and, if so, how much she will pay.
Responding to the question, Mamdani said:
“Taylor Swift will be paying, has already paid, the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and the response to it. And that was a permit that was finalized, I think, just the days before the event itself.”
“Now, when it comes to this summer, as you heard it from, State Senator Gonzalez, as being a summer where we’ve not only had the next first championship in 53 years, the World Cup, our nation’s 250th anniversary, a number of what are both historical and generational events, we have made clear that there would be limitations in terms of what the city would be able to do. However, that would not actually limit New Yorkers’ ability to go to have a barbecue, to have a lot of the things that we’re afraid about at first.”

The guests at the Swift-Kelce wedding reportedly signed a strict NDA before the event that restricted them from sharing any details about the wedding.
While many of the celebrities who attended the event have hesitated to share details about the wedding, Rich Eisen recently spoke about a special moment that took place.
During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight on Friday, Eisen spoke about Jason Kelce and his family, calling it “awesome.”
”Kylie as well.” Eisen added. Those four little girls were sprinkling flower petals all over the place; it’s pretty cool, dude.”
Eisen further called the moment “pretty amazing.”
