San Francisco 49ers’ star wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has had injury struggles in the final stretch of the season. Pearsall has missed the last two games for the 49ers due to a knee injury.
But with a thinning roster and the Divisional Round Matchup coming up against the Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers would need the WR back in action.
So, is Pearsall playing today against the Seahawks? A final decision on his availability is yet to be made. Pearsall was on the team’s injury report leading up to the game, and he was listed as ‘Questionable.’
To make matters worse, Pearsall saw limited practice participation in the lead-up to the game. But, it’s worth noting that over the week, he showed good signs of making progress toward hopefully being game-ready.
It’s the playoffs. We can expect players to push through their discomfort and step on the field. Pearsall might do the same for his team today. If we rely on what he has already said, we will likely see him on the field.
“Yeah I’m pretty confident. I’ve been to every practice this week. Yeah, you guys saw me practice last week, but if you really saw me practicing, I couldn’t really lift up my leg very well,” he told the reporters. “This week it gave me a little bit more optimism that I’ll be playing this week. I feel more confident.”
Even if Pearsall plays today, he won’t be at his 100%. The wide receiver needs more time to fully recover from his injury. It’s likely not going to happen until he gets proper rest during the offseason.
