Maxx Crosby is regarded as one of the most expensive defensive ends in the NFL, as his contract is reportedly worth $106,500,000 over a period of three years. After much drama surrounding his team, the Las Vegas Raiders, putting him in the injured reserve, rumors have been popping up nonstop that they are trading him. While the team’s official stance is they want him to stay, these rumors are still saying otherwise.
As these trade rumors heat up, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini gave the latest scoop on the defensive end’s status with the Raiders, and for now, it seems like they are maintaining the status quo, especially as Crosby has been seen already recovering from his knee surgery.
“The sense I’m getting on Maxx Crosby right now is I don’t think anything has changed in terms of I know John Spytek, the general manager, said that he foresees Maxx Crosby being on the roster. I think he has to see that. I think he should see that,” she said.
Russini added that until Crosby himself says that he wants to star a Raider outright, these rumors might persist, especially with all the drama that has happened when the season ended for the Raiders. For now, he has not yet done so, but when he finally makes a decision, he usually sticks with it.
While Crosby has expressed his disappointment and frustration with him getting placed into the Injured Reserve, Russini pointed out that cooler heads could still prevail, but for now, they are still maintaining the status quo without much movement.
New Head Coach Klint Kubiak Wants Maxx Crosby To Stay With Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are rebuilding again, and this might be the reason why Maxx Crosby might be gone. However, as far as new head coach Klint Kubiak is concerned, he wants his new team’s biggest defensive star to stay.
“It’s a guy that we really want on our team, simple as that,” he said. “We want Maxx to be a Raider and the few interactions I’ve had with him have been very positive. Really excited about working with Maxx this year.”
That was a ringing recommendation from the new coach himself, but everything now falls to the hands of Raiders organization and Crosby on whether he stays or not.
