The football world is in shock after NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore was found unconscious inside his home in Indiana on Saturday before passing away, as authorities continue to investigate the cause of his death. He was just 25 years old.
Tributes for the football star have now been coming in, from his old high school to former teammates and players he had gone up against on the field. Among them is Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby, who took to social media to post a tribute video where he shared a story regarding Moore during their college days.
“I hate to do this, I hate to be doing this, but rest in peace Rondale Moore. I’ll give a little story. Sucks having to do this after he’s not here and I know it’s so fresh but it’s on my mind. I played this man in college. We went to Purdue and played the Boilermakers on their field. I remember playing against Rondale Moore and I was like, ‘That’s the coldest dude I’ve ever been on the field with, up to that point. He was like Tyreek Hill in college.”
He then went on to name some of the late wide receiver’s accolades, including being named a First Team All-American during his freshman year. He then stated that he is sending out prayers to Moore’s entire family and said “rest in peace” one more time.
Maxx Crosby went to Eastern Michigan, and during his college days, his team would usually clash with Rondale Moore’s Purdue Boilermakers, with many echoing the comparisons to a younger Tyreek Hill.
Indiana Coroner Reveals More Details on Rondale Moore’s Passing
Floyd County (Indiana) coroner Matthew Tomlin is the one in-charge of handling the investigation into the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver’s death, and he revealed that Rondale Moore was actually found to be still alive inside his home. He was soon sent to the Baptist Floyd Hospital in New Albany, where he passed away.
Tomlin added that there is no threat to the public and that more details might be revealed on Sunday, as his autopsy is scheduled on that day.
The Arizona Cardinals picked Moore in the second round, and he played there for three years. He was then traded to the Atlanta Falcons before being traded again to the Minnesota Vikings. He was sidelined for the entire 2025 season after suffering a knee injury during a preseason game against the Houston Texans.
