Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua has once again found himself at the center of controversy dating back to New Year’s Eve. A woman named Madison Atiabi has filed a lawsuit against the receiver for assault and battery.
The woman claims Nacua bit her shoulder during a party in Los Angeles. The receiver is also alleged to have bitten the thumb of another woman. On Tuesday, a new update has surfaced on social media.
An exclusive video from TMZ shows Nacua half asleep at the back of a car with the alleged accuser twerking near the receiver’s face. According to TMZ sources, the video is after Nacua bit her back.
The lawsuit was filed in LA this month. The biting incident is part of the same night when Nacua made an antisemitic statement. According to the LA Times, a woman named Madison Atiabi claimed that during a group New Year’s Eve dinner, Nacua said:
“f— all the Jews … in a manner audible to [her] and others at the table.”
As the evening progressed, Nacua became more “vulgar, threatening, and violent” in his conduct. After this, Atiabi was bitten on her left shoulder by Nacua and it was photographed as well.
How Puka Nacua’s Attorneys Responded to Biting Allegations?
In response to the lawsuit filed by the woman in LA, Puka Nacua’s attorneys have denied the allegations, especially the claim of offensive remarks. His side describes it as “horseplay” during a party, adding that the incident was misrepresented and exaggerated.
Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, claims that he has spoken to witnesses and other Rams players who were also at the party and found out that the receiver didn’t make the antisemitic statement.
“Puka denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms,” McCathern said. “We will pursue all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements.”
Madison Atiabi’s request for a temporary restraining order was denied by a Los Angeles Superior Court judicial officer. The next hearing is scheduled for April 14.
“Our office was contacted with demands of millions of dollars in exchange for not publicizing these allegations,” McCathern told TMZ. “This is not a legitimate claim — it is blackmail.”
It remains to be seen how the court finds what exactly happened that night with respect to Puka Nacua and the lawsuit filed against him.
