The New England Patriots and the Houston Texans are about to throw down at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Sunday for the AFC Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. Both teams have had very surprising seasons, and heading into this playoff showdown, both of them also have a few injured players who may or may not play on Sunday’s big game.
For the Patriots, several players were included in this week’s injury report but did not have their status given, which means that they may have been cleared to play, as they were not listed as out, and they are CB Alex Austin – Wrist (FP), CB Christian Gonzalez – Concussion Protocol (FP), TE Hunter Henry – Knee (FP), LB Anfernee Jennings – Knee (FP), T Morgan Moses – Knee (FP), T Thayer Munford Jr. – Knee (FP), DL Khyiris Tonga – Foot (FP)
As for the Texans, their players who were listed in the injury report earlier but have no game status given are DE Denico Autry – Knee (LP), LB Azeez Al-Shaair – Knee (FP), LS Austin Brinkman – Knee (FP), T Aireontae Ersery – Thumb (FP), T/G Tytus Howard – Ankle (FP), G Ed Ingram – Shoulder (FP), RB Jawhar Jordan – Ankle (FP), CB Kamari Lassiter – Ankle/Knee (FP), DT Sheldon Rankins – Elbow (FP), S Jaylen Reed – Forearm (FP). They may possibly be playing on Sunday.
New England Patriots vs. Houston Texans Injury Report
New England Patriots
- RB Terrell Jennings (concussion protocol — IR return): Questionable
- LB Harold Landry III (knee): Questionable
Only two Patriots players were listed in the injury report, with no player being confirmed to be out on Sunday. They might also get their star running back, Terrell Jennings, back in action after being activated from the injured reserve and also undergoing concussion protocol.
Houston Texans
- WR Nico Collins (concussion protocol): Out
- WR Justin Watson (concussion protocol): Out
- OT Trent Brown (ankle): Questionable
The Texans suffered a massive blow as two of their best wide receivers, Nico Collins and Justin Watson, have not cleared their concussion protocol yet and must be out of action for this important game against the Patriots. This means that CJ Stroud might be without some of his favorite targets on Sunday, so their backups have to step up, especially with a trip to the AFC Championship Game on the line.
