Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed strong support for the U.S. Men’s National Team during the country’s 2026 FIFA World Cup opener.
The three-time Super Bowl champion went on X and simply posted three flags of the USA to express his support for the hosts. The team kicked off its World Cup campaign against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium.
“🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸,” Mahomes wrote.
Mahomes is among the celebrities who have increasingly embraced soccer in recent years. He and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, are part of the ownership group of Sporting Kansas City. They have previously expressed excitement about the 2026 World Cup being hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Mahomes is not alone in supporting Team USA. New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart was there at the stadium along with his girlfriend and influencer, Marissa Ayers.
The USMNT also delivered on the hype, defeating Paraguay 4–1 in its Group D opener.

Patrick Mahomes joined the soccer fever way too early. The Chiefs’ social media team shared snippets from a hype video for the United States Men’s National Team ahead of its FIFA World Cup matchups.
In the post below, the quarterback can be seen holding an NFL ball and a soccer ball, which will be used in this year’s World Cup.
For the FIFA World Cup, Chiefs’ home Arrowhead Stadium will be renamed Kansas City Stadium temporarily, as the venue will host several games. Chiefs coach Andy Reid expressed his excitement for the opportunity Kansas City fans will have to watch some games of the highly anticipated fixtures.
“Yeah, how exciting is that, man. That’s awesome. I mean, to have that opportunity in the United States here and the energy that’s taken place for it. People are excited, and I know the city is,” Reid said. “Kansas City is a big soccer town to start with, and then you bring in the best in the world in here, and that’s a special thing, and then they have – they’ve transformed GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. A lot of FIFA signs.”
Six matchups are scheduled to take place at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
