Myles Garrett was traded to the Los Angeles Rams on June 1 by the Cleveland Browns, ending his dominant nine-year run with the franchise. In exchange, Cleveland received Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.
Getting a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year in his prime is a big win for the Rams, but they want more now. Davante Adams, the Rams’ wide receiver, is doing some recruiting on his own as his recent social media activity has fans speculating he wants to bring back a franchise legend.
Aaron Donald, the legendary defensive tackle who played for the Rams his entire career, went into what many consider an early retirement. From 2014 to 2023, he won a Super Bowl, three NFL DPOY awards, made eight first-team All-Pro appearances, and 10 Pro Bowls.
At the age of 32, Donald decided to retire as he felt he had achieved everything he wanted to and didn’t feel the need to put his body through rigorous training anymore. Now, the tide is changing in LA.
Davante Adams posted a highlight reel of Donald’s career on his Instagram story, sending a subtle message to the 35-year-old. He also commented “Greatest” on the post.

Adams isn’t the only one who believes Donald is the greatest. In addition to him, Rams fans have also been demanding that Donald come out of retirement because the idea of him and Myles Garrett playing together is too exciting.
There’s no knowing whether Donald will consider a return to team up with Garrett, but having the NFL’s single-season sacks record holder alongside one of the best interior defensive linemen of all time on the same team is an idea worth considering.
Myles Garrett on Aaron Donald’s Potential Comeback
Donald hasn’t played since his retirement after the 2023 season. But he didn’t retire because he couldn’t play any longer, and he is only 35 years old. If the Rams can convince him, he could be ready for the next season in a few months.
After joining the Rams, Garrett talked about Donald’s potential comeback.
“We haven’t talked yet but definitely expect to talk soon,” he said. “I don’t know what his plans are, and I won’t pretend to know, but a lot of people are excited and thrilled about the possibility of him coming back.”
The demands from fans, Rams players, and a conversation with Garrett might be enough to bring Donald back to the NFL.
