Deshaun Watson is currently fighting for the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback position after missing the 2025 season because of an injury.
On Friday, Watson posted an Instagram story with his wife as the two enjoyed a luxurious ride on a private jet.
While Watson was seen playing the EA Sports College Football game on his PS5, his wife, Jilly Anais Watson, was seen posing for the camera.
Many fans and analysts consider Watson one of the Browns’ worst financial decisions, and watching that story only aggravated that emotion.
“Nothing wrong with this. Whats wrong is the browns signing brown to that contract making it fully guaranteed knowing he hasn’t played a game in the nfl for more than year assuming he was gonna play like a top 3 qb,” one fan reacted.
“The thing is, Deshaun Watson never really has to play football ever again. Oh maybe he will come back for maybe half a quarter, then get “injured” again. He still gets that direct deposit on Tuesday morning every week for the remainder of his contract. He sadly won,” another fan said.
“How do guys like the owner get so rich, yet make what are clearly mind numbing, stupid decisions??” another fan questioned.
“He’s scamming the browns worst than an NGO scamming California,” another fan added.
“Blame the browns for making yet another dumb decision in their historic history of dumb decisions,” another fan shared their thoughts.
“Thats why Sheddur going to take his job,” another fan said.
Todd Monken Makes Thoughts Clear on Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson Starting QB Battle
Many fans and analysts debate whether Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders should take the starting quarterback role in Cleveland for the 2026 NFL season.
While some believe the former Colorado star should take the wheel in his hands and develop with the franchise from a young age, others believe the Browns should get their money from Watson.
Talking about the quarterback battle, Todd Monken told the media on Wednesday that he has not yet made a decision:
“Every day I kind of lean one way or the other with quarterbacks,” Monken said after OTA No. 8 on Wednesday. “But we’ve still got to get to that point. Who’s going to start for us? But I’m fired up by the quarterbacks. I just tell you, we’ve got two starting-level quarterbacks. We really do.”
Watson signed a five-year, $230 million contract with the Browns in 2022.
