Bears Retool Roster After LA Rams Heartbreak

While the Bears opened last season with back-to-back losses to Minnesota and Detroit, the team eventually started clicking as the season went on, finishing with an 11-6 record and winning the NFC North.

However, after a miraculous 25-point fourth-quarter comeback against Green Bay in the wildcard round, the team’s hopes of a Super Bowl fell apart in a hard-fought OT loss to Matthew Stafford’s Rams.

Now, set to face the most difficult schedule in the league, the Bears have addressed several of their deficiencies from last season.

The team made way for upcoming standout wide receiver Luther Burden by dumping DJ Moore’s contract and also managing to net a second-round pick. They also got rid of Tremaine Edmunds’ massive $17.9 million contract, signing Devin Bush to a three-year, $30 million deal.

The void in the secondary left by Kevin Byard’s departure was filled by first-round pick Dillon Thieneman, out of Oregon. The Bears also got Logan Jones out of Iowa to play backup for Garrett Bradbury, who is currently on a one-year contract.
