Mike Vrabel’s stance on the viral controversy involving Dianna Russini has changed drastically from the first time he spoke about it to last night’s press conference.
After Vrabel and Russini were spotted together at a resort in Arizona, holding hands, hugging, and chilling in the hot tub, the Patriots head coach called the whole situation “laughable.” However, on Thursday night before the draft, he said he is taking accountability for his actions.
Vrabel also announced that he will miss Draft Day 3 and seek counselling, as his family needs him this weekend.
While the Patriots’ head coach is under fire for his actions, analyst Albert Breer recently spoke about how good a guy Vrabel is and said he is glad everything happened when it did, so he can come back stronger for the football season.
”I can just tell you factually he has not been the same the last two weeks in that building. The sense I’ve gotten talking to people is like that bravado and everything else. I think this has taken a chunk out of that, you know? Like, I really like Mike personally. I’ve known him a long time. I covered him as a player. You did too, Mike,” he said.
“I think, like, deep down, he’s a good guy with a good heart who’s done a lot of good things for people and wants to do good things for people and has done right by a lot of people. I would say, again, to me, it’s like what you don’t want is that version of Mike Vrabel walking around for the next six weeks until summer, and then we’ll see what happens when he gets back,” he added.
Mike Vrabel Breaks Silence on Why He Called the Dianna Russini Allegation “Laughable”
Mike Vrabel initially called the Dianna Russini situation ‘laughable’ and said that the pictures misinterpreted an innocent interaction between the two.
The Patriots’ head coach was asked during the Thursday night press conference why he said it at the time. He said it was his way of protecting his family. Vrabel further said that he didn’t mean to be dismissive, as he would never be dismissive about things.
”My family and this football team are the most important thing, and that’s what I plan to do,” Vrabel added.
The Patriots head coach has been married to his wife, Jennifer, since 1999 have two kids together.
