Micah Parsons Injury Update: Green Bay Packers Highlights Return Date After Season Ending Injury

Two days after losing the Wild Card Round matchup against the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers received positive news regarding Micah Parsons’ return. In August 2025, Parsons was traded by the Dallas Cowboys to Green Bay.

During the Week 15 matchup in December against the Denver Broncos, Parsons suffered a non-contact knee injury. He was immediately taken out of the game and did not return for the remainder of the matchup.

Hours later, reports came out stating that Parsons had suffered a torn ACL, which placed him on injured reserve and brought his season to an end. Since then, there have been speculations about his comeback timeline.

It was understood from the beginning that Parsons would miss the initial stretch of the next season. The defensive end recently provided an update on his return timeline, which is far better than what most people expected.

Parsons stated that he’s currently eyeing a Week 3 or Week 4 return.

“There’s a timing standpoint they want,” Parsons said. “But I don’t think I’ll be on IR, I’ll say that, to start the season. I think lofty, I’d be saying Week 1. But realistically, probably like Week 3 or Week 4. Just to make sure, and just getting back into football, just practicing hard and getting ready to sustain taking my body through what I go through.”

It’s not going to be an easy comeback as Parsons will have to be eased into being game-ready. Once he starts practicing with the team, they’ll have to simulate the intensity of the game so that he gets used to it, considering he’d be out for nearly a year.

The Packers Blew a Massive Lead in Micah Parsons’ Absence

At halftime during the Bears game, the Packers were leading 21-3. A win was nearly guaranteed for Green Bay unless they made some drastic mistakes or the Chicago Bears went on an extraordinary run.

Both those things ended up happening in the second half. The fourth quarter, especially, was tough to watch for the Packers fans as the Bears went on a 25-6 run and ended up winning the game 31-27, sending shockwaves across the Packers fanbase.

Being eliminated by their biggest rivals and then witnessing the Bears break out the cheese grater celebration must’ve hurt the Packers. For now, they can find comfort in Parsons’ improved comeback timeline and look forward to the next season.
