Las Vegas Raiders Maxx Crosby is not in free agency. However, he might as well be, with the defensive end being one of the most sought-after players this offseason. He’s allegedly very displeased with the direction of the team and the way the franchise is being managed.
Thus, Crosby has been linked with several teams in the NFL. One of these teams is the Cincinnati Bengals, who are worth $5.25 billion. Former NFL tackle Andrew Whitworth seems to know what team should go all in for Maxx Crosby. The former Cincinnati Bengal spoke on his podcast, “Fitz & Whit”, and said the following about his team’s needs this offseason:
“I think this is a pretty easy one. Defense would be a great place to start… We can’t miss… How do we add the defensive weapons to take us over?… Go get Maxx Crosby at all costs”
He also spoke about the fact that 2026 is probably the year that will make or break the Joe Burrow cycle at Cincinnati, and that the team needs to get it absolutely right this offseason to be able to continue the process with this quarterback.
Whitworth also said that the Bengals defense needs an injection of experience and professionalism, and that’s where a player like Maxx Crosby could come in and set a tone for the entire unit. That’s why he thinks Crosby should be an absolute priority for the franchise, and that players and draft picks should be sent Las Vegas’ way, to ensure the trade gets done.
Whitworth was an NFL guard for 15 years, and for a decade with Cincinnati between 2006 and 2016. He then played for the Los Angeles Rams between 2017 and 2021. At the tail end of his career, he won Super Bowl LVI in the 2021 season.
Qiant Myers Believes Maxx Crosby Will Stay with the Raiders
ESPN Radio Host Qiant Myers doesn’t think that Maxx Crosby will be leaving the Raiders, and it has all to do with the teams to which the defensive end would want to go to. They’re all picking late in the first round of the NFL Draft:
“That’s the big hiccup,” Myers said on trade scenarios for Crosby recently. “It’s gonna be a team like Buffalo, like the 49ers, like the Lions, like the Bears, and they’re gonna be picking late. So, does that make sense? Is it worth it? Honestly, I don’t think he’s going anywhere. I don’t think it makes as much sense as people think.”
And that’s an important thing to consider. Would Crosby want to leave a team like the Raiders, to join the Dolphins, Browns or Giants?
