After a one-year hiatus from the NFL, WR Odell Beckham Jr. is all set to return to the league with the very team that gave him his first break more than a decade ago.
In a recent announcement video on Instagram, Odell Beckham Jr has officially put all the rumors to rest as he is all set to feature in the upcoming NFL season in New York Giants’ colors.
The announcement video featured a montage of Odell’s time with the Giants throughout his career with an inspiring caption, writing:
“Nothin was ever given to me I worked for everything I have. Never give up on urself. Home Team i’m back…. Let’s get itttt”, Odell captioned his return post.
This announcement has but naturally garnered a lot of reactions from footballing word, with the likes of Malik Nabers, Jeremiah Smith, Justin Jefferson showcasing their excitement alongside a few more personalities.
“Surpriseeeeeee”, Nabers commented on his teammates return post.
“Lawwwdddd🔥”, Vikings WR Justin Jefferson reacted to Odell’s return.
“🔥🔥🔥”, Ohio state’s Jeremiah Smith wrote on instagram.
Lakers legend LeBron James too couldn’t contain his excitement as he congratulated Odell on his return to the league.
Meanwhile, NYG’s head coach John Harbaugh would most definitely hope for Beckham Jr. to rewind the clock as far as his on-field performances in the NFL are concerned.
Throughout his 10-season NFL career, Beckham Jr. has thrown for a total of 7,987 yards while also garnering 59 touchdowns, most of which came during his stint for the New York-based franchise from 2014 to 2018.
NYG Depth Chart: How Does The Team Shape Up With Odell Beckham Jr.’s Addition?
Despite all the memories attached to his on-field heroics for the New York Giants, Odell Beckham Jr. is currently named third by ESPN on the WR depth chart, with the likes of Malik Nabers and Calvin Austin III ahead in the pecking order.
The other WR slots see Darius Slayton and Darnell Mooney touted as the starters in the upcoming campaign. While it remains to be seen how much game time Odell Beckham Jr. gets in 2026, his experience could very well prompt John Harbaugh to deploy him more often than expected.
