A clip of New York Giants star Malik Nabers went viral on social media. It showed the wide receiver talking with several cops while standing next to his Tesla. Another clip showed multiple police patrol cars on the road at the location.
This led to rumors that Nabers was being arrested for unknown reasons by law enforcement. But is this true?
“No weapon, No arrest, No citation” – NFL analyst addresses Malik Nabers arrest rumors
After the post went viral on Tuesday, NFL analyst Mike Garafolo came forward to provide a clarification on the whole situation. He shut down the rumors that Malik Nabers was arrested and provided more information on his interaction with the police.
“Regarding #Giants WR Malik Nabers and what’s circulating on social media, multiple sources say he was stopped in Paramus by police after a report of road rage by someone driving a similar vehicle. They searched Nabers’ car and spoke to him. No weapon, no arrest, no citation and he was sent on his way,” Garafolo tweeted.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan also shared a similar tweet clarifying that Malik Nabers was stopped because the cops had a case of mistaken identity.
The Giants drafted Malik Nabers with the No. 6 pick in 2024. In two seasons, he has recorded 1,475 yards on 127 receptions and nine touchdowns.
NFL analyst Boomer Esiason shares an update on Malik Nabers’ injury
In September, Malik Nabers suffered an injury during the Giants’ 21-18 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at MetLife Stadium. He was sidelined for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn right ACL.
On Tuesday, analyst Boomer Esiason provided an update on the wide receiver’s injury and whether he will be healthy to start the upcoming season.
“A lot of people were talking about this yesterday and it was written about this morning,” Esiason said on the ‘Boomer and Gio’ show on WFAN. “So it’s not like something that you and I are coming up with which is kind of opining on it.
“It’s the fact that maybe Malik Nabers’ knee is worse than we initially thought. And it doesn’t look like he’s gonna be back for the start of the regular season. So they just want to make sure that they have a couple of guys on the roster that at least have played. And they don’t want to put Jaxson Dart out there with young guys. They want to put him out there with seasoned veterans.”
The Giants start a new journey under coach John Harbaugh in 2026. They kick things off with a Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13 at home.
