After spending the last seven seasons in the NFL as the Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback, Kyler Murray will be quarterbacking elsewhere for the 2026-2027 season.
Earlier this week on Monday, March 3, it was reported that the Cardinals will release Murray at the start of the new league year which begins on March 11. The decision comes after the Cardinals failed to reach the playoffs for a fourth-straight season and after Murray suffered a foot injury that caused him to miss 11 games last season.
With the move, it paves the way for the Cardinals to go after free-agent quarterback Malik Willis who the team reportedly has interest in. It will also mean that Murray will emerge as one of the top quarterback options to add this offseason.
Top Landing Spots For Kyler Murray
Minnesota Vikings (-110)
The Minnesota Vikings are not committed to third-year quarterback JJ McCarthy long term. He battled injuries most of his second year after missing his rookie season due to injury, and went 6-4 while completing less than 60% of his passes. With a new general manager, the team could add a new quarterback this offseason and are currently the favorites to sign Murray via DraftKings Sportsbook odds as of March 4.
New York Jets (+175)
The New York Jets will for sure add a new quarterback for a third-straight offseason. The Aaron Rodgers experiment two seasons ago was a flop, and so was bringing in Justin Fields last season, who they announced they will move on from. The Jets have the fourth-most cap space at around $74 million and could easily outbid other teams for Murray.
Miami Dolphins (+320)
The Miami Dolphins haven’t traded or announced their plans to release quarterback Tua Tagovailoa yet, though, that is the expectation. The Dolphins currently have the third-highest odds to sign Murray, and will be under new management this season. Could the Phins pursue Murray to replace Tagovailoa? The odds suggest there’s a very good chance.
