Is Justin Jefferson Getting Traded? Minnesota WR Reveals Future Plans Amid Subtle JJ McCarthy Shots

It is no secret that Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has grown frustrated over at Minnesota. During an interview with “First Things First,” the two-time All-Pro wide receiver was asked if he believes he is the best WR in the league right now, and Jefferson said that he is, before throwing some shade at teammate and QB1 JJ McCarthy.

“How I’m not? A lot of people base iT off the QB play. … If I don’t have an elite QB throwing me the ball the entire year, then it’s a little bit difficult to be in those conversations. I still think I’m No. 1,” Justin Jefferson said.

While it is more likely that the Minnesota Vikings would trade their current QB1 over their star wide receiver, Justin Jefferson’s frustrations with his current team is widely known, and it seems that one team may be gearing up to trade for the star wide receiver.

Buffalo Bills fans have been campaigning for their team to trade for Justin Jefferson, but there is nothing solid on offer yet. However, during an appearance  on “Up & Adams,” the WR addressed the Buffalo trade rumors by saying, “I’m a Viking.”

“I’ve been hearing a couple Mafia fans talking a little bit here and there, but I’m a Viking,” Jefferson told Kay Adams during the Up & Adams podcast on Wednesday.

With that, it seems that while Jefferson is frustrated with the team’s lack of elite quarterbacks, he is liking it up there over at Minneapolis.

JJ McCarthy Being Floated As Part of Vikings Offer For Joe Burrow

Minnesota has had some quarterback troubles, with JJ McCarthy being out for a long time due to injury. While he did prove himself in college, leading the Michigan Wolverines to a national title, McCarthy has struggled in the NFL, with fans pushing to get rid of him and trade for better QBs, such as the Bengals’ Joe Burrow.

Usually, throwing shade at the QB1 is one reason for a player getting traded, as these tensions could cause some unnecessary drama in the locker room.

However, there is still no official word on the Vikings’ plans, though it seems that it is more likely that the Vikings would trade JJ McCarthy over Justin Jefferson, as the quarterback seems to be one of the possible names being floated as part of a possible trade with the Bengals over Burrow.

There is no solid offer being made yet, but just as Bills fans have been clamoring to trade for Jefferson, Vikings fans have been clamoring to trade for Burrow.
