It’s safe to say that Jeremiyah Love doesn’t want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Meanwhile, America’s Team, which holds the No. 12 and 20 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, is not necessarily looking for a new running back, having signed a $24 million deal with Javonte Williams.
However, some still believe they could be interested in getting a new running back via the draft. Jerry Jones is no stranger to flashy picks, and with two first-round picks, he could afford it.
When asked about it at a recent press conference during the NFL Combine, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish tailback didn’t seem too thrilled with the prospect of going to Arlington.
“I mean, Cowboys are great, my dad is a Steelers fan, and he doesn’t like the Cowboys. I really don’t care… I’ll be blessed to go anywhere, I’ll be blessed to go anywhere. So, I’ll be honored to wear the star or wear any other team’s as well,” said Love in a dispassionate tone that didn’t sound all that convincing.
Also, he didn’t remember whether he had met with the Dallas Cowboys through the NFL Combine activities so far. He said he had met with several teams and that Dallas could be among them.
Jeremiyah Love Expresses His Desire to Play Alongside Patrick Mahomes
There’s one team the Notre Dame running back would be incredibly happy to play for: the Kansas City Chiefs. Jeremiyah Love said this during his recent appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show”, where he also opined that Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league.
“Yes, yes, I would be,” Love said. “Especially playing with Patrick Mahomes. I feel like he’s the best quarterback as of right now. Best in the league. I feel like he’s top one. So it would be an honor to play with him.”
It’s not impossible to see the Chiefs picking Love, as they have the No. 9 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Love is squarely a top-10 candidate, and if he slips all the way to No. 9, he just gave Kansas City a very strong signal that he would want to join them.
