Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, which took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, was among the biggest events of the year.
There was a lot that went into planning a wedding that hosted around 1,000 Hollywood stars and NFL players.
Swift obtained a permit worth around $160,000 before the wedding, talking about how the whole process went, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in an interview with Rolling Stone published on Tuesday:
“We had some indication that there would be a permit application coming in, but it wasn’t until right before the wedding that that permit was actually submitted. Regarding what the city had to respond to, that application came in just before the wedding. But our responsibility is also to plan for any eventuality and ensure we’re ready to respond. Generally, I think the city services acquitted themselves very well.”
Mamdani misheard a question and thought the reporter was asking whether the guests had a good time at the wedding, to which he said he had no idea.
The Mayor was also asked whether he had been invited to the wedding, which wasn’t the case.
Brad Paisley Reveals Hilarious Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift Wedding Invite Story
The Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift wedding invite was a huge topic of discussion before the wedding, as fans wanted to know who actually got the invite and who got snubbed.
Among big names like Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Tom Brady, and more, was Brad Paisley, who shared a hilarious story of him getting the wedding invite during a conversation with “The Associated Press”:
“They were very clear with the invite. I took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite, it said, if you’re getting this, you mean a lot to us.” Paisley said. “And it was really fun to watch the cat-mouse game of like, we can tell you roughly where it’s going to be, we’re not going to say what building, we’re not going to say, and here’s the date, and if you’re in, we’ll tell you more.”
”And I was like, I went to my wife, I said, ‘ You want to go? And she’s like, absolutely, we’ve got to be there. So we did, it was RSVP-ed.”
Paisley also shared that “ironically,” the MSG wedding was among the least pretentious he had ever seen, which is why the invite meant a lot to him.
