“Guess I’m A Jameis Winston Fan Now”: NFL World Reacts As Giants QB’s World Cup Gesture Goes Viral

Since the Giants’ season ended, Jameis Winston has been part of a slew of non-NFL-related activities, including an appearance on the MLB’s first-ever opening day coverage on Netflix and joining FOX Sports’ 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage as a correspondent.

Now, the former Florida State quarterback has gone viral for helping Japanese fans clean up the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, after their group stage match against the Netherlands.

While Japanese fans have a reputation for cleaning up after themselves after sports events, Winston, who was on the scene, also joined the “Samurai Blue” faithful in helping to leave the stadium in a neat and clean state.

Shortly after the video of Winston’s gesture was posted online, fans flocked to the comments to commend the former Heisman Trophy winner.

    One fan commented:

    Another fan claimed:
“He went from someone we all hated to the most beloved player in the NFL. Simply incredible.” (@SpurriersBurna)

“Jameis Winston helping Japan fans clean the stadium was not on the 2026 World Cup bingo card,” said another fan.

“Jameis is a great role model by jumping in. You cannot hate this man,” said one fan.

“If you don’t like Jameis .. something is wrong with you,” mentioned one fan.

While it is not revealed what game Jameis Winston will be reporting on next, the former Giants quarterback continues to win fans’ approval through gestures like these.

Jaxson Dart Ready For Super Bowl Run With Giants

The New York Knicks recently celebrated their first championship after a drought that lasted more than five decades. While the majority of hardcore Knicks fans, such as Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, and Tracy Morgan, witnessed the rare occasion live, Dart had a message for the comedian after the game.

In a clip that surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), Dart proclaimed to Morgan that the Giants will be next in line to bring a championship to New York.

While the Knicks had a historic run that featured a 13-game unbeaten streak in the NBA Playoffs, the Giants are currently in their rebuild phase with newly appointed head coach John Harbaugh.

The team’s star wideout, Malik Nabers, starting running back Cam Skattebo, and young quarterback Jaxson Dart all missed time last season due to varying injuries, but are expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season.

The team also reunited with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in an effort to provide more attacking options for their star quarterback.
