Rome Odunze’s trademark afro sets him apart from the other receivers, but his injury troubles have defined the end of his regular season. The wide receiver missed all of December and early January due to injury, leaving many wondering if he will be able to contribute against the Green Bay Packers.
Here’s a look at everything you need to know about the wide receiver ahead of the monumental clash between the Chicago Bears and Packers.
Rome Odunze Injury Update
According to the Chicago Bears’ official injury report, Rome Odunze is a full go against the Packers. The receiver, who has been dealing with a foot injury, had two limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a full practice on Thursday.
It’s all hands on deck for the opening round of the playoffs, and all signs point toward Odunze getting on the field. However, he will be someone to monitor as the game progresses. Rust could be a factor. This will be his first game since Nov. 28, so it will be a de facto trial run to see how his foot holds up.
Rome Odunze Set For Career Record On First Snap Against Packers
Of course, Rome Odunze won’t need to do much to make a couple of career accomplishments. If Odunze starts and logs at least one snap, it will be his first NFL playoff appearance. Additionally, it will be the most games he has started in a single season in his career.
Odunze logged 12 starts and 17 total games of action in 2024. In 2025, the receiver logged 12 games of action and 12 starts. With one more start, Odunze would end the year with at least 13 games of action and 13 starts. Of course, some will call it a technicality, but for Odunze, any personal records since suffering the foot injury will be a cause for celebration.
The receiver earned 90 targets, 44 catches, 661 yards, and six touchdowns in the regular season. He hopes to add to those numbers against the Green Bay Packers.
