When the Dallas Cowboys traded their top defensive end, Micah Parsons, to the Green Bay Packers, it sent shockwaves across the league. Green Bay has seemingly won that trade, as it made it to the playoffs. However, the question is: will Parsons even play in the Wild Card Round against the Chicago Bears?
The short answer is no, he will not. Parsons was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 17 after tearing his ACL. Players need to miss at least four games before being reactivated, which means that even if he were healthy, he would not be eligible to play in this game.
Parsons had surgery on Dec. 29, ending his season. Torn ACLs \take months or even a year to heal, so he will be eyeing a return next season.
Parsons was the Packers’ premier defender this season, hungry to prove himself after being traded by the Cowboys amid a contract dispute. He had 41 tackles with 19 solo, 12.5 sacks (No. 1 on the team and tied for No. 3 in the NFL), 12 tackles for a loss (No. 1 on the team and tied for No. 9 in the league), 26 QB hits (No. 1 on the team and No. 4 in the NFL) and 83 Next Gen Stat pressures (No. 1 in the league) since coming to Wisconsin.
What Happened To Micah Parsons?
Parsons got injured in the game against the Denver Broncos. He sustained a non-contact knee injury while trying to rush Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Parsons was seen clutching his knee after failing to tackle Nix.
He received an MRI soon after the game ended and underwent surgery a few days later. He is now in rehabilitation.
