For San Francisco 49ers second-year wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, it hasn’t been the start to his NFL that he probably expected when drafted in the first-round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Pearsall was the sixth and last WR taken in the first-round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and was primed for a productive rookie season. Right before the start of the season, Pearsall was placed on the PUP list due to a gunshot wound. He wound up missing the team’s first six weeks of the 2024-2025 season.
Pearsall was active for 11 games and started four as a rookie, totaling 31 receptions for 400 yards and three touchdown receptions. He began the 2025-2026 season on the PUP list with a hamstring injury and then suffered a PCL injury early in the season, which has caused him to miss some time.
This Saturday, the 49ers will face its division foe, Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. As of right now, Pearsall’s status remains in question for Saturday’s game.
What Happened To Ricky Pearsall?
Ricky Pearsall re-aggravated right PCL injury in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears. He’s also been dealing with an ankle injury. Pearsall originally suffered the injury in Week 4, and has missed some time since.
As a result of the two injuries, Pearsall has missed the last two weeks and has missed all practices in that span.
Is Ricky Pearsall Playing Against Seattle Seahawks?
On Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers opened the practice window for Ricky Pearsall. He was seen running on a side field under the supervision of the team medical staff. Right now, he’s limited in practice.
Pearsall participating in practice provides a good sign for the 49ers ahead of its Saturday showdown against the Seahawks.
If Pearsall does play, he can expect a heavy target load as the team lost tight end George Kittle for the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury.
