Browns media have proved time and time again that they are not a fan of Deion Sanders being involved in his son, Shedeur Sanders’, career.
Coach Prime was blamed for Shedeur’s drastic NFL Draft slide in the 2025 NFL Draft, where he was supposed to go in the top 10 picks but ended up getting picked by the Browns as the 144th overall pick.

Almost a year after the dramatic draft slide, Deion spoke to Garrett Bush in a podcast and said that he wants to meet the Browns head coach, Todd Monken, not as a father but as a coach.
Coach Prime said he believes it’s vital for him to meet Monken and added that he could tell the Browns head coach a few things, including how to get Shedeur going.
Reacting to the statement, ESPN analyst Jerod Cherry said:
“I think that’s the worst thing you can do is inject yourself into it Todd Monken doesn’t unless he volunteers unless he goes searching for you then I think you make yourself available because That’s the problem because what are you going to say that’s going to – he’s going to look at you from a biased standpoint regardless because you are still, even though you’re still from a coach, you’re his dad”
“In the locker room, it may come over like, oh, this dude got his dad, you know what I’m saying, politicking for him. So, you know, to each his own, and I’m sure Todd Monken will be like, yeah, you know, let’s meet and have a conversation. But I don’t think it’s possible to separate coach and dad.” Emmett Golden added.

Analyst Predicts Deion Sanders Will Hinder Shedeur Sanders’ Success in the NFL
During Thursday’s episode of the Craig Carton Show, analyst Ty Johnson shared his blunt thoughts on Deion Sanders wanting to meet Todd Monken.
Johnson asked in what world does Coach Prime believe meddling in Shedeur’s business would help the Browns quarterback when he is already behind in the depth chart?
The analyst further pointed out that Shedeur has work to do, which also means he needs to not be a problem off the field.
If Deion Sanders continues this way, we’re going to look at it as one of the main reasons Shedeur Sanders will not succeed; it won’t be Shedeur, it will be him,” Tyrone Johnson said.
Johnson also sent a bold message to Deion Sanders and asked him to be better and to let Shedeur be an adult.
