“He’d be a Great Teammate”: Brian Burns Addresses Possibility of Odell Beckham Jr. Joining New York Giants

New York Giants linebacker Brian Burns is all smiles after the success of his softball-centric event, which also featured other activities. Burns organized a celebrity charity softball game on Saturday with the help of Giants superfan Joe “License Plate Guy” Rubak. The game featured other activities, including a home run derby, and was held in support of the Hype 4 Life Foundation, which helps families with members who have autism.

The event featured some of the most famous names in Giants history, both past and present. Among them was former wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who is currently a free agent. During the event, Burns was asked by NFL reporter Ryan Dunleavy about the possibility of Beckham returning to the New York-based franchise. Burns is all for it.

“ That’s, that’s above my pay grade. But I mean, if I could, I think he’d be a great teammate, you know what I’m saying?,” Burns shared. (0:20)

Beckham last played in the NFL in the 2024 season for the Miami Dolphins. He was waived right after the season ended. Since then, he has been searching for an NFL team to play for. It was reported that he worked out with the Giants this offseason, so a return to the franchise that drafted him is on the cards.

Brian Burns admitted that he grew up watching Odell Beckham Jr.

In the same interview, Brian Burns also shared that growing up, he used to watch Odell Beckham Jr, who is considered one of the flashiest players of the 2010s. Beckham’s dynamism and hands made him one of the most recognizable names in the NFL during his prime.

“I grew up a little bit watching him. He’s definitely a dog. Over the years just being around each other, being in the same circles, we crossed paths a couple times and had some conversations. So I mean, I agree, it’d be great to have him in the locker room,” Burns affirmed. (0:29)
