Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson is a man of many talents. Cooking isn’t one of them. This is, according to his fiancée, former Miami basketball player Haley Cavinder. In her most recent Instagram reel, the basketball player turned influencer decided to rate, and well, complain about her fiancé’s cooking skills.
In the short video, Haley Cavinder can be seen holding a piece of steak Jake Ferguson cooked for her. He can be heard in the background recording the video. As soon as she cut the piece of meat, she said:
“Oh my God Jake… That is a one out of ten… Well that sucks”
While she had previously described the cut as being cooked medium rare, once she cut it, it became clear that the meat was seriously undercooked. She even pointed out that had she eaten it, she would’ve gotten sick.
Haley’s twin sister, and former fellow Miami basketball player, reacted to the video and demanded that her brother-in-law step up his game:
“@jakeferg84 do better,”
All clearly in good fun.
Haley Cavinder and Jake Ferguson have been dating since September 2023. They first met in June of the same year, after Ferguson famously slid into the then-Miami star’s direct messages on Instagram. They upgraded the status of their relationship in April of last year, when they got engaged.
How did Haley Cavinder and Jake Ferguson first meet in person?
In an episode of ‘What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon’ this past February, Haley Cavinder opened up on how she eventually met Jake Ferguson in the summer of 2023:
“We had just graduated from the University of Miami, and we were living in Miami still, and Jake was actually in Fort Myers because his mom lives up there, and he’d just finished his season. He just asked, long story short, and we met up,” Cavinder said.
She also admitted that from the start, the relationship seemed perfect for her, and she reiterated her desire to marry him:
“Then, we hung for like 10 days straight. We celebrated Fourth of July together, and then started dating. And yeah, ever since I was — he’s literally perfect. I cannot wait to marry him. But, then I moved in with him after we proposed and, yeah, we’re getting married in June. So, I’m really, really excited about that.”
Sounds like the quintessential modern love story.
