San Francisco’s George Kittle is the best-paid tight end in the history of the NFL. That is after he signed a four-year, $76.4 million extension with the 49ers last year. Celebrity Net Worth puts his current networth at $20 million.
That’s just a fraction of his career earnings; however, he has earned more than $82 million. There’s no doubt, he’s a big spender. The most important asset in his portfolio is a 178-acre ranch in Tennessee, which he bought for about $3.47 million in October 2020.
His first contract, when he was drafted in 2017, was for $2.69 million and ran through 2020. It also included a $298,296 signing bonus. That year, he received a $75 million, which ran through 2024.
Here’s a breakdown of his career earnings so far.
| Years | Contract Type | Total Value | Average Annual Value | Total Guarantees |
| 2017–2020 | Rookie (Drafted) | $2,698,296 | $674,574 | $298,296 |
| 2020–2024 | Extension | $75,000,000 | $15,000,000 | $30,000,000 |
| 2025–2029 | Extension | $76,400,000 | $19,100,000 | $40,000,000 |
George Kittle Expects An Early Return With The San Francisco 49ers
2025 was a season plagued by injuries for George Kittle, which made him miss several games through the regular season. Finally, the season ended in a disappointing season ending Achilles’ tear in the postseason.
Some have even wondered if Kittle could be ready at all for the 2026 season, and if he might not be better, he must think about retirement. However, that’s not at all what Kittle and the 49ers are thinking.
In late January, he spoke with the press about the surgery and said that he’s going through the best-case scenario.
“Surgery went really, really good,” Kittle said. “[ElAttrache] said best-case scenario when you tear an Achilles is that you tear it up high by your soleus, which is what I did. I had a clean tear. They didn’t have to drill into my heel. And where the repair was there’s more blood flow. And so it takes some time off of the recovery time… It’s not as bad as other ones.”
Reports are that Kittle and San Francisco are eyeing a return for November in 2026. Some have raised the point that the timeline is unrealistic, but it’s what Kittle seems to have in his mind.
