Deion Sanders was criticized by many fans after he posted heartfelt words of encouragement for Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia for going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft despite being a Heisman finalist in 2025. However, Sanders didn’t put out anything for former Colorado QB Kaidon Salter who signed with the Titans’ mini camp.
Fans were left agitated by Coach Prime’s lack of efforts for his own former player, who was one of the three starting quarterbacks the Colorado head coach used for the 2025 season, ending the year with an overall record of 3-9.
In a tweet soon after Pavia went undrafted, Coach Prime wrote that he believes in the Vanderbilt QB and advised him to stay strong, show people what time it is and never allow them to forget.
“I’m right, I’m not wrong. There’s no maybe. Your coach doesn’t care about his own players but Pavia was a popular topic so he made sure to do his infamous “Love you to life” post about him 🤣 A player he never coached,” one fan reacted.
“Agreed. Prime couldn’t care less about CUFB. He’s just cashing checks at this point. Unfortunately, some of us have seen this reality TV Show before. He’ll run CUFB into the ground on his way out, just like Prime Academy,” another fan wrote.
“Why is Deion still a coach? I mean honestly,” another fan questioned.
“Someone tell Deion he has a QB from his own team, Kaidon Salter, that went undrafted and got into a mini camp. No words of encouragement? He just tweets about other players. Diego Pavia gets a paragraph and his own players get “Thank You Jesus” or nothing at all…. He shows his true colors everyday. There’s a reason none of the transfers respect him and dawg him out in the media,” another fan said.
“He only supports other celebrities frfr. Dating a woman his daughter’s age. Having murderers come talk to his kids. No respect for this man frfr,” another fan added.

Deion Sanders Points at Racism Amid Backlash From Fans
In a viral press conference clip, Coach Prime is seen passionately talking about him being a confident Black man is an uncomfortable thing for many people.
Deion highlighted that when he does things or the Buffaloes does things that have never been done, it makes people uncomfortable.
“They don’t like that,” Coach Prime added.
The Colorado head coach also claimed that him coaching 75% African Americans in the locker room makes people feel threatened.
