Dianna Russini is probably facing one of the toughest periods of her career as a journalist as she had to resign from her job at The Athletic amid massive backlash from many fans and analysts.
Russini was spotted with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a luxurious hotel in Arizona and were captured hugging, holding hands and enjoying their time in a hot tub and by the pool, leaving many individuals agonised as they are both married to other people and have kids.
The NFL reporter’s resignation came after the organization started an internal investigation on her conduct as many people pointed out toward her Patriots heavy narratives and shared concerns over potential conflict of interest.
The same concerns stands for her vote in the AP Coach of the year scenario as the honor was handed to Mike Vrabel in 2025.
Fans expressed their opinions on the topic.
“Of course they are. She was out here voting on awards while cozying up with a coach whose success (or lack of) she helped shape with her ballot. NFL media “integrity” was always a joke — now we’re just getting the receipts. Married reporter + married coach sneaking off, then crying “narrative” when caught. This whole thing screams conflict of interest and zero accountability,” one fan reacted.
“Haha, Dianna Russini-Vrabel scandal just leveled up—her old AP votes might get investigated now 😂 Broke down perfectly by @Tonysmarkettips. NFL media drama getting spicier than the draft itself,” another fan wrote.
“@AP ….. when will the press br transparent .They’re a*s crooked as they’re rigged ss voting for the sec and notre dame @AP_Top25 3 voter shills throttling them up every year networks and alumni pumping up their schools,” another fan added.
“ban her from the league make her go to the nba and be another kay adams,” another fan advised.
”If her votes are for vrabel coty and maye MVP it doesn’t mean anything extraordinary but at the same time looks suspicious as to her bias,” another fan said.
”The Drake May for MVP buzz is starting to make complete sense,” another fan highlighted.
Dianna Russini Saves an Old Man and a Dog Amid Mike Vrabel Controversy
While Russini caught fire from fans and many people in the media, the popular NFL reporter turned into a hero for an elderly man and his dog last week.
According to New York Post, Russini saw a car flipped on the road with a 73-year-old man and a dog trapped inside. She ran out of her vehicle and helped pull both of them out from the jeep.
The story comes in the middle of the massive backlash that she is facing for allegedly having a relationship with Vrabel, an allegation that both the parties have denied.
