Deion Sanders, who has a net worth of $60M (according to Celebrity Net Worth), went through a difficult year in 2024 while he was dealing with various health issues, including high-risk bladder cancer and toe surgery. He also had to deal with his sons facing heartbreak in their careers.
The Colorado Buffaloes had an impressive season in 2023, which was Shedeur and Shilo’s last year, as they ended the year with an overall record of 9-3.
While Shedeur was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, he drastically slid to the fifth round and was selected as the 144th overall pick by the Cleveland Browns.
On the other hand, Shilo Sanders went undrafted in the draft and signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Even though fans were loving Shilo making a place for himself in Tampa, and were impressed by him over his first NFL preseason game, his time with the team was limited.
Shilo got waived off by the team after the third preseason game against the Buffalo Bills for punching a player on the field.
Talking about the incident months after it took place, Deion Sanders hilariously said on his recent appearance on the “First Take” show:
“But it was tough for the Sanders family. Both of my daughters, Shilo getting cut. He went out swinging … I gotta give him that,” Deion said. “He went out swinging literally.”
Deion Sanders Boasts About Shedeur Sanders’ Pro Bowl Achievement
Shedeur Sanders’ first year in the NFL was full of ups and downs. While he didn’t get any starts in the first few weeks of the game, he ended the season with 3 wins and 4 losses as the Browns’ starter.
While Drake Maye was supposed to be one of the QBs in this year’s Pro Bowl game, his name was taken out because of his upcoming Super Bowl appearance, eventually replaced by Shedeur Sanders.
The whole Sanders family rejoiced on the news of Shedeur making it to the Pro Bowl, especially Coach Prime:
“My son did something that I didn’t do,” Sanders said on We Got Time Today podcast. “He made the Pro Bowl in his first year. I made it in my third year. But he made it in his first year, so he’s got that over me right now.”
“It’s not like an ‘I told you so moment,’ more like a ‘God is good’ moment. Like, ‘Y’all don’t understand what I’m on.’ Y’all don’t understand who got my back, y’all don’t understand who riding with me. Y’all don’t understand who’s propelling me. That’s what it is. And we like that.” Deion added.
Shedeur’s performance in the Pro Bowl wasn’t as impressive as his team lost in a 66-52 showdown.
