    Christian Gonzalez Injury: All We Know About Patriots CB’s Injury That Put Him in Concussion Protocol

    Last night the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs for its first playoff win in seven years.

    The Patriots’ defense held the Chargers to just three points as quarterback Drake Maye threw a fourth quarter touchdown to Hunter Henry, as the Patriots earned a 16-3 victory in Maye’s playoff debut.

    The Patriots move on to the divisional round of the playoffs while the Chargers suffered a second straight Wild Card round loss. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is 0-3 to start his playoff career.

    Though the Patriots won, one key defensive player left the game early in the fourth quarter.

    What Happened To Christian Gonzalez?

    During the fourth quarter of last night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Christian Gonzalez landed on his head hard after defending Los Angels Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston on a play.

    The hit made him leave the game and Gonzalez was initially ruled questionable to return, but was shortly ruled out after heading to the locker room.

    A day later, on Monday, it was revealed that Gonzalez remains in concussion protocol. Gonzalez told reporters after last night’s game that he was unable to speak to the media.

    Gonzalez’s status for this upcoming divisional round playoff game will be one of the biggest storylines to follow this week.

    Who Will New England Patriots Host In Divisional Round?

    The result of tonight’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans will determine who the New England Patriots will host in the divisional round of the playoffs this upcoming weekend.

    New England will host the winner of the Steelers-Texans game next Sunday at a time TBD. The other AFC divisional round playoff game will feature the Denver Broncos hosting the Buffalo Bills.
