Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek have been together for over a decade. They first met in 2013, began dating, and went public with their relationship in 2015. Despite their long-term relationship, the duo has not tied the knot or had a child.
Kostek sat down with “WAG World” host Skyler Caruso and talked about her relationship in detail. The nine-time Sports Illustrated model, who is 34 now, admitted that at 21, she thought she would have had kids by now.
“When I was 21, I definitely thought I would have been married with kids by now,” she said, as per People on Thursday, “and sometimes I go back, and I judge myself — or even now. I’ll be like, ‘Wow, I’m behind.'”
Kostek also revealed her recent conversation with Gronkowski’s mother on the topic.
“I was talking to Rob’s mom the other day,” she said. “It was Mother’s Day. I was like, ‘Remind me again when you had your first?’ And she was like, ‘I was 22.’ I sat down, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. I’m so behind.'”
However, Gronkowski’s mother told her that “everyone has their own journey.” The conversation reminded Kostek about her own discussion with her mother, who gave birth to her at the age of 27. She was also a model.
“This is a reminder to self and a reminder to others that we are not meant to follow the same journey,” Kostek said. “There is not a book of life. There is not a right way to live and a wrong way to live. Just letting go and giving yourself that grace.
“What’s meant for me will never pass me by is such a beautiful feeling and such a beautiful reminder that I always have to bring back to myself.”
Rob Gronkowski’s GF Camille Kostek Opens Up on Social Media Negativity
It’s not like Camille Kostek hasn’t heard from fans that she should be married by now. However, over time, she has learned to block out the noise. She said:
“With social media or people feeling like they have access to myself or to Rob and giving their unwanted opinions, sometimes I’m like, ‘Wait, I should be married right now? I should have kids. Should I just stop my career? What should I do?'”
Instead of falling into the trap, Kostek embraced a new mindset:
“No, I can do it all.”
Kostek concluded that she is meant to walk her own path even if people make judgments about her.
