The family of A.J. and Avieon Terrell has faced a whirlwind in the past couple of weeks. Avieon was inducted into the NFL on draft weekend in late April to join his brother A.J. with the Atlanta Falcons. Shortly after that huge development, things have taken a turn.
According to the Daily Loud in a post on X on Friday, the aunt of the brothers was killed in a car crash at a supermarket parking lot. Reports indicate she was not at fault.
Fans responded in droves to the sudden loss, offering their condolences, thoughts and prayers.
“That’s awful 💔 Condolences to AJ, Avieon, and the whole Terrell family. Losing someone like that, in such a sudden and senseless way, hits hard. Hope they’re getting space and support from the Falcons community right now,” one posted.
“Damn, that’s a tragedy. Condolences to her family and friends. May her soul rest well. 🕊️,” another added.
“This is really heartbreaking 💔 The world is becoming too scary honestly 😨,” one replied.
More fans reacted with shock, while one called out the driver if he was at fault.
“Man, going to the grocery store and never making it back home is terrifying…you can just tell from that first pic that she was their absolute biggest supporter too. Life is so unfair sometimes. Praying for the Terrell family through this 💔🕊️,” one posted.
“wtf is wrong with the driver . Hope he sees jail for the rest of his l!fe or it was a brake failure,” another responded.
“Holy s**t, in a parking lot? That’s an absolute tragedy. Prayers for the family. 🙏,” one wrote.
According to a Thursday report by WSB-TV, the aunt, 49-year-old Giselle Perry, was at an Atlanta Kroger when the crash occurred. Another person on the sidewalk was hit in the incident. The driver and the second victim were taken to the hospital.
Avieon Terrell’s First NFL Contract Creates First Big Financial Question
Avieon Terrell’s aunt will not get to see how much her extended family member will earn in the NFL, but she might have had a good idea of how much he was set to earn in his first deal. According to Over the Cap, Terrell is set to earn $10.3 millon with a $2.5 million average per year.
With a funeral now seemingly on the way, Terrell will face his first big financial question of how much to give as his contribution to the event, and whether he will financially contribute.
As a player with public wealth, Terrell might feel added pressure to go one way or the other. However, for now, handling the emotions of the loss is the priority.
