Many are hyped over the New Orleans Saints picking one of the best wide receivers in the 2026 class, Jordyn Tyson. The former Arizona State star has impressed many and believe he could be one of the best players to come out of this year’s draft. However, not everyone thinks he would be that good, as Tyson has plenty of flaws in his game.
During his appearance on the post-draft edition of “The Ryen Russillo Show,” analyst Daniel Jeremiah noted several “red flags: regarding Jordyn Tyson. In particular, the former football star pointed out that while the wide receiver is very athletic, he does not seem to be that durable and questions what might happen should he take a very hard hit.
Tyson’s a fascinating one,” he said. “Like that one’s fascinating to me. If you look at the top receivers in the NFL, if you look at who’s productive, and you find guys, and like with Tyson, who is athletic and acrobatic and all those things, take the durability and missing games out, just put that to the side. Struggles versus press, struggles on contact catches and doesn’t offer you much after the catch. Like those three things are just screaming red flags to me.”
Despite this lack of durability, Jordyn Tyson is still seen to be the one to help improve the team’s lagging offense, especially in the wide receivers room, as they only ever had three good wide receiver options.
Injury Concerns Still Plague Jordyn Tyson After the NFL Draft
While he is considered the best wide receiver option in this year’s NFL draft, with the New Orleans Saints pouncing on him the moment it became their turn to pick, his No. 1 issue remains if he would get injured or not.
While he remains one of the most athletic wide receivers in the draft, he has had a lot of lingering injuries during his college career. He suffered a major multi-ligament knee injury in 2022, tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL. He eventually returned but broke his collar bone in a season-ending injury in 2025. This means that the Saints will have to be careful with their new injury-prone first-round pick heading into the new season.
