Who Are Adam Thielen’s Parents and Wife? Inside the Personal Life of Vikings Legend After Retirement Announcement

Adam Thielen officially announced his retirement from the NFL, bringing an end to one of the league’s most unlikely and respected careers. An undrafted receiver out of Division II Minnesota State, Thielen carved out his legacy with a career spanning over a decade.

Thielen’s best years in the league were spent with the Minnesota Vikings. He signed with the Vikings in 2013 and stayed with the team until 2022. Thielen holds several NFL records, including eight straight seasons with over 100 receiving yards.

Even as injuries and roster changes marked the later stages of his career, Thielen remained productive and professional, traits that defined his time in the league.

“What a ride it has been!” Thielen wrote in his retirement announcement post. “13 years what a blessing! Have been blessed with so many great relationships and mentors over the years that I am forever grateful for! Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the years, it has meant everything to my family and I!”

With his retirement now public, attention naturally shifts beyond the stat sheet.

    Adam Thielen’s Parents

Adam Thielen was raised in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, by his parents, Pete and Jayne Thielen. He grew up in a tight-knit, middle-class household. There was no fast track to the NFL in his environment, and he had to earn his stripes every step of the way.

Pete and Jayne supported Adam’s athletic interests without placing unrealistic expectations on him. He played multiple sports growing up, never treating football as a guarantee for his future.

However, growing up in an environment where he was supported by his parents and regularly played football with his friends, Thielen had no idea he was laying the groundwork for what would become a memorable NFL career. Thielen has often credited his upbringing for keeping him grounded, especially once success arrived.

    Adam Thielen’s Wife

Adam Thielen is married to Caitlin Thielen, whom he met well before his NFL breakthrough. Their relationship predates his rise with the Vikings, which has been a defining part of their story. Caitlin was an athlete herself, playing soccer at the college level.

The couple married in 2015 and have since built a family together, they share three children. Despite Thielen’s popularity, he has managed to keep his personal life private. Caitlin has been a constant presence throughout Thielen’s career transitions.

Outside of football, the Thielens have been involved in community and charitable work, most notably through their foundation focused on youth development and family support.
